About Us
An industry leader and technology innovator, Riverain Technologies applies proprietary pattern recognition and machine learning technologies in the creation of software applications for use globally in the health care industry and beyond.
Our organization’s roots can be traced back to pioneering work that began in the 1990s and led to the first clearance by the Food and Drug Administration of chest computer-aided detection (CAD) radiography. We changed our name from Riverain Medical to Riverain Technologies in 2011 to reflect our commitment to developing meaningful innovations benefiting people in a number of ways worldwide.
Riverain’s ClearRead™ Suite features a number of products that take ordinary X-ray images to extraordinary levels. Each application is designed to save and improve the quality of people’s lives through the early detection of disease. The software gives radiologists a clearer and more revealing view of the chest X-ray, immediately improving the diagnostic potential of the most commonly performed imaging procedure. There is no additional procedure or radiation dose for patients and no imaging hardware for the institution to buy and find space to house.
- Our bone suppression technology transforms a standard X-ray image into a soft tissue image and enables detection of 1 in 6 lung cancers that otherwise would have been missed. Bone suppression technology is used in all of our ClearRead software applications.
- Our CAD technology, which circles potential lung tumors on a bone-suppressed X-ray image for further evaluation by a radiologist, is the market leader in computer-aided detection for chest X-ray. CAD enables detection of 1 in 2 previously missed lung nodules.
- The newest addition to the ClearRead family is temporal comparison software that electronically compares two chest X-ray images taken on the same patient, at different times, to reveal differences that may indicate conditions including lung nodules that may be cancerous.
