Evaluation of an Artificial Intelligence Model for Opportunistic Agatston Scoring on Non-Gated Chest Computed Tomography

Researchers compared ClearRead CT CAC’s Agatston scoring accuracy with that of paired gated cardiac exams and with ground truth radiologists and found that ClearRead CT CAC showed strong correlation with both. This demonstrates the product’s ability to be used for cardiovascular risk assessment in ungated CT exams.

Researchers at the University of Washington measured total reading times with and without Riverain’s ClearRead CT Vessel Suppression technology on over 4,000 CT chest scans and found that it improved total reading time by 36%.

"Try Before You Buy": Comparative Evaluation of FDA-Approved AI Algorithms for Coronary Calcium Scoring on Lung Cancer Screening CTs

Three commercially available incidental coronary artery calcification (CAC) scoring technologies were benchmarked and compared for performance. All three tools demonstrated reasonable agreement with the gated exams. However, ClearRead CT CAC (vendor B, CAC-AIB) showed the most reliable performance for both scoring and risk stratification.

With use of the Vessel Image Suppressed CADx system, radiologists increased their interpretation speed by a factor of approximately one-fourth. The technique has the potential to assist radiologists in the detection of additional actionable nodules on thoracic CT.

606 patient studies were evaluated to determine if lung cancer was overlooked on a previous exam. Researchers found that using ClearRead Xray improved the detection of missed nodules significantly and allowed them to potentially detect lung cancer 18 months sooner.

Bone suppression increases the visibility of invasive pulmonary aspergillosis in chest radiographs

The detection of invasive pulmonary aspergillosis in chest radiographs (CXRs) can be improved when their evaluation is aided by bone-suppressed images. Bone suppressing imaging improved the sensitivity of the CXR examination, outweighing a small loss in specificity.
